Council performing above and beyond
At Ashfield District Councils Cabinet meeting this week, Members heard how the Council continue to go above and beyond delivering services across the District.
As part of the quarterly review, the report highlights how the Council is performing against its performance measures, with the majority meeting or exceeding their target.
Some of the highlights include:
ADC remain the only council in Nottinghamshire to deliver all waste services throughout the pandemic, as well as offer additional waste services to support residents.
With a 16% national rise in fly tipping ADC are bucking the trend, with fly tipping dropping 20% in Ashfield due to enforcement and a number of initiatives.
Recycling rates have seen a 3.58% increase on last years figures.
Lammas and Hucknall Leisure centres have both seen major redevelopment, with planning permission now in for the second pool in Hucknall. Kirkby Leisure Centre is on track to open in the summer.
£70m of investment in the District via the Towns Fund and Future High Streets Fund. The Enterprising Ashfield initiative is about to launch providing business support.
£500,000 secured as part of Safer Streets. Projects being delivered include new CCTV cameras being installed, an App that aims to help women and girls feel safer whilst out and about is being trialled and PSPO has been put in place to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Online payments now make up a third of payments made to the Council, the upcoming launch of resident’s portal will provide residents with access to the Council 24/7.
The first Council homes to be built in a generation have been completed at The Poplars, The Beeches and Hawthorne Avenue. Eight sites are currently in progress, totalling 46 new homes.
Two successful food and drink festivals were held in Hucknall with over 3,000 people attending each event.
