National news
- The Budget and Spending Review 2021 UK GDP took place on 27 October 2021. Amongst the positive news, real wages have increased by 3.4% compared to 2020
- The minimum wage for people aged 21 and over increased from £10.42 to £11.44 per hour on 2 April 2024. This is branded as the National Living Wage by the government; however, this is separate to the Real Living Wage, an independently calculated rate based on cost of living. Still, the gap between the government's National Living Wage and the Real Living Wage is closing.

- As of 2023 the region's population increased by 5.0% since 2018, growing by 6321. Population is expected to increase by 3.8% between 2023 and 2028, adding 5060
- From 2018 to 2023, jobs increased by 9.3% in Ashfield from 53,781 to 58,773. This change outpaced the national growth rate of 6.5% by 2.8%
- Concerning educational attainment, 15.0% of Ashfield residents possess a degree or equivalent and above - SCQF L9 (18.6% below the national average), and 7.3% hold a Higher Education below degree level - SCQF L7-8 (0.7% below the national average)
