Ashfield is open for Business
From Monday 12th April non-essential retailers, personal care and hospitality venues across the District will start to open their doors.
Following months of closure, non-essential retailers, personal care and hospitality venues will open their doors to the public from Monday.
Sutton, Kirkby and Hucknall will all see their high street businesses open, joining those that have been open providing essential services throughout lockdown.
Theresa Hodgkinson, Director for Place & Communities said:
“Many of you have been shopping local since the first lockdown began last March, and we hope you will continue to keep shopping local. All three of our towns offer a wide variety of independent and high street shops and businesses. When you shop local it provides a much needed boost to the local economy.”
Social distancing measures will continue to be in place including floor markings, queueing systems, limited numbers allowed in shops and street furniture will be regularly cleaned.
All high street businesses have been provided with information on safe reopening and our Covid Support Officers are supporting businesses to ensure our high streets are safe places to visit.
Car parking in Ashfield District Council owned car parks will remain free to support local businesses.

“We understand people’s anxieties around being out and about again, but we want to reassure residents that we have measures in place to ensure that their experience in our town centres is a positive one. The message is clear, Ashfield is open for business.
“Our commitment to town centres continues, with the Towns Fund and Future High Streets funding two of our key priorities this year. Please continue to support local retailers, and let’s make our town centres the vibrant shopping centres they deserve to be.”
Non-essential retailers at Idlewells indoor market will also open from Monday 12th, along with our outdoor markets.
