Council Launches “Online Gateway” To Help With Cost Of Living

“Feeding Ashfield” is the new online gateway developed by Ashfield District Council, with the goal of providing improved access to all available food support services and education in Ashfield. It is part of the work the Council are doing after a Cost of Living Emergency was declared at the last Full Council Meeting.

The new web-page can be accessed on the Council’s website at: https://www.ashfield.gov.uk/environment-health/health-wellbeing/feeding-ashfield/

and is a network of local food banks, food clubs, allotments and other organisations working collaboratively with the aim of providing food and educational opportunities throughout the District.

On the new gateway you will find an interactive map where you can find all locations across Ashfield.  Residents can then access information, donate items to help others and Volunteer to help these services deliver there much needed support.

Executive Lead Member for Customer Services and Strategic Planning, Cllr Sarah Madigan said: “The new Feeding Ashfield gateway has been designed to make finding information and support services easier and with greater accessibility.  With so many separate organisations across the District, it was difficult for residents to know what’s available and where.  With the cost of living crisis biting – this is a lifeline that will be vital for so many people.”

Leader of the Council, Cllr Jason Zadrozny said: “We want to empower people by developing new features on our website such as Feeding Ashfield and Careers Boost to help residents find the services and the support they need.  We want residents to access help or help all others all in one place.

Ashfield District Council’s Health and Wellbeing Team identified barriers to accessing information and recognised the need to create a dedicated and unified network which can become the go to point for support and information.

The aim of the Feeding Ashfield Network is to build a community that works together to support everyone and shares resources.
