Ashfield District Council continues to support businesses through pandemic
Since the start of the pandemic Ashfield District Council has issued millions of pounds in grants to local businesses. Back in March the Council issued £22m in grants, in June a further £1m was issued to businesses and nearly £3m has just been issued to businesses since the start of the latest lockdown in December.
In the past week 323 Ashfield businesses with a rateable value have received £2.8m between them and a further 76 with no rateable value, £108k between them.
If you are a local business and still not applied for the latest grants full details can be found on the Ashfield District Council website: www.ashfield.gov.uk. Please note that for businesses without a rateable value applying for the discretionary grants, the grant application deadline is midnight on 31st January 2021.
Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader of Ashfield District Council said:
“We have successfully issued millions of pounds to businesses across the District during these difficult times. We understand how tough it has been, and continues to be for our businesses, and we are committed to supporting them in any way we can.”
Our Covid Information Officers have visited over 800 businesses across the District, providing information and support to ensure that they are operating in a Covid-secure way. Officers are visiting all premises in the three town centres and local shopping areas.
Cllr Zadrozny continues:
“We’ve been working closely with businesses that are able to open to ensure they offer a safe environment for customers. Our Covid Officers are out across the District daily supporting businesses and will continue to do so once the current restrictions are lifted. We are committed to ensuring that our high streets survive the impact of the pandemic.”
