Ashfield Celebrates the King’s Coronation this weekend

Residents are in for a royally good time at Ashfield District Council’s big coronation party on Titchfield Park, Hucknall, this week on Saturday 6 May.

Visitors to the park will be able to sit back and enjoy the live stream of the King’s Coronation on the big screen from 11am, followed by a screening of the family film, Paddington 2.

The free event will run from 10am – 4pm with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Event-goers will find free face painting and balloon models, inflatable slides and bouncy castles, a walkabout prince and princess, and a bustling market village.

The 45 market stalls will be offering a variety of products including plants, knitwear, jewellery, sweets, cakes, street food, dog accessories, pocket money toys, donuts, wax melts, crepes, soft toys, clothing, cheese, and personalised gifts.

Robert Docherty, Executive Director of Place, said “The King’s Coronation is a true once-in-a-generation event and we are proud to offer residents a chance to celebrate this with the community. So pack a picnic, or buy some treats from the abundance of market stalls, and head over to Titchfield Park, Hucknall, to join the party.

“Last year the Council hosted an array of excellent free events that were attended by thousands of residents and this year we hope to exceed that success with our Splendid Summer.”
