Ashfield residents are set to benefit from Ashfield District Council’s latest investment into leisure facilities in the District as Kirkby’s new leisure centre opened to the public on 6 August 2022.

Family and councillors have been paying tribute after the sad death of popular councillor Jim Blagden.  Councillor Blagden, nicknamed “Gentleman Jim” died aged 74 after a battle with cancer.

Following the huge success of the first two Food and Drink Festivals in 2021, Ashfield District Council is bringing the festival back to Hucknall on Sunday 21st August.
