The three winning photos for 2022, taken across the open spaces in Ashfield District

Winners announced for the Discover Ashfield photography competition 2022

The winners of the Discover Ashfield photography competition have been announced. Over 100 residents took advantage of the summer sun to capture creative images of a variety of different people and places across the District.

This year’s competition had 3 categories, “the “people of Ashfield”, Ashfield’s “places” and a new category for “under 16’s”.

The overall entry rate was the highest so far and the judges found it very difficult to select the 2022 winners.

The winners for each category were:

Ashfield District Council and the Discover Ashfield team would like to thank everyone who entered this year’s competition, which has been the most successful yet, with over 100 entries over the 3 categories.

Louise Knott, Vice Chair of the Discover Ashfield Board said: “The job of the judging panel was not made easy at all this year by some brilliant entries that really captured the best that Ashfield has to offer both in terms of places to visit and the wonderful people that make up our community. There is much to be proud of in Ashfield and entrants really showcased the best the district has to offer. Congratulations to our winners and runners up.”
Leader of the Council, Cllr Jason Zadrozny said: “It is great to see all these images captured from around Ashfield and the ways everyone interpreted the different categories. Record numbers entered this year’s competition, a real testament to the community involvement we have in Ashfield.”

Ashfield District Council and the Discover Ashfield team will be hosting a new competition in September to celebrate everything you love about Ashfield’s leisure centres, including the new Kirkby Leisure Centre. Please look out for further details over the coming weeks.
