Kirkby Leisure Centre parking update

Ashfield District Council is aware of the parking issues off Lindley’s Lane and has been monitoring the situation over the past few months. The Council has taken the decision to deploy marshals to better manage parking on Lindley’s Lane and in the staff car park. Blue Badge holders can continue to park in the staff carpark until the main carpark is completed. The marshals will also ask customers not to block the entrance to Dacrylate and to avoid parking in front of residents’ homes.

Leisure centre users are being asked to use the two carparks at the front of the Council building off Urban Road and Ellis Street carpark.

It is intended that these measures will help reduce the parking issues and also ensure it is safe for emergency vehicles to travel along Lindley’s Lane.

We ask that all leisure centre users remain respectful and courteous towards our neighbours and would like to thank you for your continued patience whilst the new carpark is being built.

11&12 March Celebration Weekend

To minimise disruption during the celebration weekend, event stewards will manage traffic and those attending the event are being encouraged to walk and cycle where possible.

The Council will open the carparks at its Urban Road offices and Ashfield Health Village have agreed that event attendees can also use their carpark, providing additional parking.
