Free bulky waste collections coming to Sutton in June
Bookings will open in June for Sutton residents to take advantage of Ashfield District Council’s free Bulky Waste collections, as part of The BIG Ashfield Spring Clean.
All households now have the chance to use their one free bulky waste collection of up to three items at four points throughout the year. Collections will now move to Sutton in June before moving to Kirkby and the rural areas in July and Hucknall in August. The rotation then starts again giving every area four opportunities to use the service; allowing residents to book their one free collection throughout the year when they need it.
Suttons collection months are June, September, December, and March 2024. Bookings for collections can be made up to one weeks before the collection month and can be booked online on the Free bulky waste collection page or by calling 01623 450 000.
This is part of the biggest Big Spring Clean ever with hundreds of residents getting rid of dozens of tonnes of excess waste, numerous community litter picks, planters being delivered to schools and much, much more.
Paul Parkinson, Executive Director for Operations:
"It’s great to see the Bulky Waste initiative is being used by so many residents across Ashfield. The success speaks for itself as the uptake increases year after year. The Council champions initiatives that have a positive impact on our communities so, don’t forget if you don’t need your collection this time around there will be more opportunities throughout 2023 and 2024”
“Now in its sixth year in a row the Bulky Waste initiative forms part of the Ashfield Big Spring Clean which has become a favourite amongst Ashfield Residents, allowing them to dispose of bulky and large items that are difficult to remove otherwise”
