Chairman of the Council, Cllr Dale Grounds was happy to turn on the lights and said:
“It’s always good to see all the families enjoying the events the Council provides. Christmas is a special time of year, especially seeing the excitement on the children’s faces. I can’t wait to see the Kirkby and Sutton switch-ons in the coming weeks and I hope to see many of you there.”
Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader of Ashfield District Council said:
“It was fantastic to see so many people come down to the Christmas event in Sutton, the school children worked so hard on their singing and routines. Everyone loves Christmas so it was great to kick off the festive season with the first of our three free events.”
The dates for the lights switch-ons in Kirkby on Thursday 30 November 2023, and then in Hucknall on Wednesday 6 December 2023, 4pm to 7.30pm.
