Ashfield businesses go international at industry networking event
Ashfield’s business leaders met to hear from industry experts at a networking event in Ashfield, with focus on international trade.
Hosted at the Mour Hotel on Sherwood Business Park in Kirkby and organised by the Ashfield’s Business Support Team, delegates heard about trading overseas and ways they can tap into global markets.
Speakers included Sharon McCarthy and Bruno Ferreira, both from the Department for Business and Trade, Kenneth Filipiak, Ray Kirchner and Kevin Malecek from Mentor City in Ohio, USA; Keith Fox, Co-Founder and Director of Bloc Digital in Derby and Andrea Colins, International Trade Consultant.
Ashfield District Council continues to champion the area as a thriving one for ‘economic growth and place’ - a key council priority.
Executive Director for Place, John Bennett represented Ashfield at the event and said: “The Council has aspirational plans for the future of Ashfield and the successful progression of the Automated Distribution and Manufacturing Centre (ADMC) and Ashfield Accelerator are a big part of that journey.
“The doors are now open on ‘MakerSpace’ in Sutton, giving new enterprises and developmental business ideas access to dedicated resources and facilities to give them the best chance of success.”
