Proxy vote
If you aren't able to vote in person you can ask someone you trust to do it for you. This is called a proxy vote and the person you choose is often called your proxy.
Apply for a proxy vote
Your proxy can go to the polling station for you or they can apply to cast your vote by post.
You need to provide reasons for appointing a proxy, depending on your circumstances you may be able to appoint a permanent proxy based on your registration information.
There are different forms to complete depending on your circumstances, the forms can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website. We are happy to advise you to help you complete the correct application form.
Where to send your completed application form for a proxy vote
When you have completed your form, signed it by hand (as we cannot accept electronic signatures on application forms), you have 2 options to return it to us:
