If we’ve missed your bin for collection let us know. We’ll arrange for it to be emptied as soon as possible.
Bins should be on the edge of your property nearest the road by 6am on collection day. You can check which bin is due for collection in the bin collection calendar.
We won’t collect extra bags left out with your bin, and your bin should have a closed lid. If your bin was too full, or had items we don’t collect in it, we’ll have left you information and advice on a bin hanger. You can check what goes in which bin on our bin guide:
On occasion, severe weather does have an impact on our service as refuse vehicles are vulnerable to skidding, with the potential to cause considerable damage.
Whilst we will try minimise disruption, the health and safety of our crews and the public in general has to take priority. Even though the road appears clear, the pathways may be dangerous for our crews to collect bins. An increase in parked cars on streets during bad weather can also stop collection vehicles getting into or out of a street safely.
In the event that severe weather affects the refuse and recycling collection service, we will continue to carry out collections where it is considered safe to do so.
But what happens if we can’t collect your bins because of the bad weather?
Team Leaders may check the CCTV from the collection vehicle to verify the authenticity of a "missed bin".
You can let us know about missed bin in these ways.
